About Us

Thrifty Connections began with a quiet inner prompting—to connect. Following that call led Rose and Natalie down a shared path of discovery. Along the way, the book “Let Your Life Speak” by Parker J. Palmer helped shape their vision. In it, Palmer describes vocation as “the place where your deep gladness meets the world’s deep need.” That idea became the heart of Thrifty Connections. Rose and Natalie gave life to a vision rooted in connection, creativity, and contemplation. What began as a spark has bloomed into a space that feels like a secret garden—one where they hope others can find beauty, meaning, and community.
We hope to provide a space that is a gentle, welcoming place to come back to yourself and connect to others.
Creative expressions are the principles that drive our deep sense of gladness. It brings JOY to express creativity through decorating, crafting, and upcycling objects & furniture. We are those people who actually do the projects pinned on our Pinterest boards.
We enjoy authentic discussions about the great mysteries of the world and the interconnected nature of our experiences. We love to treasure hunt at garage sales and thrift stores, especially when searching for something to incorporate in a creative project.
Thrifty Connections is a space offering connection through classes, events, and unique thrift experience that leaves you filled with deep gladness. Stop in and meet the owners and experience all the different expressions of community.
Meet Natalie

Natalie spent 10 years as a small business owner in Schenectady and was known for her unique window displays and for the ways she partnered with patrons to provide hundreds of donations to deserving causes and organizations.
She spent several years speaking at conferences, leading workshops, and hosting retreats exploring topics of intergenerational healing and wellness. She sold her business and followed a vocational calling and homeschooled her son, which was the most edifying and gratifying experience of all.
Her children are now post-college, and she finds herself an empty-nester and ready to pour her creative passion back into the community she lives in. She is excited to bring the best of the wisdom she’s acquired from these past experiences into every loving little detail through Thrifty Connections to our beloved community.
Meet Rose

Rose hopes to create opportunities for people to slow down, get quiet, and go inward with mindful creativity. Through crafting, contemplation and quiet gatherings, she aims to offer the feel of a safe nest where you can rest, reflect, and grow.
Her goal is to provide a library of books filled with inspiration, wisdom and love; a closet of affordable clothing to foster confidence, and an assortment of home goods to beautify your space.
Her wish is to offer the space and resources to allow people to unveil the ultimate treasure – the truth within themselves.
