DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Alcohol Ink Art \nSaturday May 2\, 2026 1:00pm-2:30pm $25.00  \nCurious about Alcohol Inks? \nI was too! Join us for an introductory class where you will learn: \n  \n\nWhat Alcohol Inks are and how to work with them on different surfaces ( plastic craft paper\, ceramic tiles)\nYou’ll be able to try out different ways to move the inks around (brushes\, micro\n\nbrushes\, qtips\, puffers\, hair dryers) \n  \nAt the end of the class you will bring home an inked bookmark and a ceramic tile.  \n  \nGuest Instructor Janet Folkman put down art in her early 20’s and filed up her days with all things Social Work for the next 41 years. Promising herself she would pick up art in her retirement\, she decided not to wait! She came across alcohol inks about 10 years ago when she saw a class being offered and she proclaimed I have found my medium! Since then she has provided demonstrations\, taught classes and given private lessons. Her art has been shown in galleries\, art shows and craft fairs \n. \nYou will need to sign additional waivers to participate in this class: \n  \nPlease review Safety Precautions-  \n  \nI use an abundance of caution for all of us to have an enjoyable \nclass \n\n Rubbing alcohol and alcohol inks are a known irritant and they\n\nare flammable \n\n The industry recommends wearing protection and you will be\n\nprovided with a kn95 medical grade mask\, latex free gloves and \neye protection to use at your own discretion. Respirators are \nsuggested as well but can’t be offered. Please bring your own if \nyou want. \n\nprecautions will be taken to limit the exposure to the rubbing\n\nalcohol and inks. •We will have ventilation (open windows ) and \nfans. This is the recommended modification so the inks and \nsolutions so they can be used more safely . \n\n The class size is limited to 7 students to provide personal space\n\nand to manage your artist area. \n\n Wear clothes that you don’t care about! The inks permanently\n\nstain clothing \n\n All art materials used during class are included in the class fee.\n\nClasses at Thrifty Connections intended for adults and suitable for individuals 16+. \nTicket Policy \nAll ticket sales are final. As a small business\, we operate with limited class capacity.  Classes require advance planning\, preparation time\, and the gathering of materials and supplies. Because of our limited capacity\, we are typically unable to refill seats or recover the costs associated with cancellations. For these reasons\, all class ticket purchases are final and non-refundable. \nIf you’re unable to attend\, your ticket may be transferred to a friend or donated—just let us know ahead of time so we can update our guest list. Thank you for understanding and for supporting our small classes and creative offerings.
